Northbrook Gymnastics Training Center

  • Offers a 50 minute class for 2 year olds (Mom and Tot). Classes for 3 year olds are drop off.

The Book Stall at Chestnut Court

Wilmette Public Library

  • The Wilmette Public Library offers a variety of weekly early childhood programs for ages birth to 7. Programs consist of developmentally appropriate stories, songs, and activities. Most programs are unregistered, drop-in programs lasting approximately 30 minutes. Children 3 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Winnetka-Northfield Public Library 

  • "Bright Beginnings" (3-17 months) with parents/caregivers: songs, rhymes, movement.
  • "Lapsit" (18-24 months) with parents/caregivers: songs, rhymes, and stories.
  • Toddler Time (2 years) with parents/caregivers: songs, stories, and movement. Registration required for fall and spring sessions, drop-in during summer session.
  • Drop-in storytimes (no registration required). Pre-School (3-6 years), and Afternoon Storytime (4-6 years) parent/caregiver must remain in library while the story time is in session. PJ Stories (2-6 years), for the child and parent/caregiver to share. Pajamas and teddy bears are welcome.

Elkin School of Music

  • Music teachers come to your home for private lessons. For children (and adults, too), starting age 4. 30 minute instruction in piano, guitar, violin and vocal training, focusing on classical, jazz, and many other forms of music. Teachers provide music. Referrals available.

Music & Movement at Northfield Community Nursery School

Music for Mommy & Me: Make a Joyful Noise!

  • Join Director Jill Witt and Debby Ponko, performing musician and teacher, for a special hour of Christian music and lots of fun! It's a great opportunity to meet other moms, introduce your child to school, and discover music together.

  • Kid-Motion is a play-based movement program for children ages 2 - 5 years old. It has been operating in Winnetka since 1985. Kid-Motion was established to provide young, active children with a developmentally appropriate learning environment that enables them to enhance their physical development in a fun and creative atmosphere. All classes are limited to 13 children and have 2 trained teachers.
  • Classes are 1 1/2 -2 hours long and are offered  Monday through Friday.

Little Bits

  • Free play, circle time, art, songs and child centered projects to help children develop social skills, for ages 2-3. Staff does not change diapers. Sign up is in the fall for a year-long class.

Outdoor Adventures
