Let's play! Guide Fall/Winter 2023-2024

Dear Parents, Grandparents, and Caregivers, 

You are invited to The Alliance for Early Childhood’s Let’s Play! series for the 2023-2024 year. Let’s Play! brings together community partners to host large-scale, pop-up play events around Chicago and the North Shore. This year we have 3 new programs, including Let’s Play! Experiences in Highland Park and Lincoln Park. No matter your neighborhood, we hope you will find a Let’s Play! Event near you and join in the fun. 

You also can view and register for all Let’s Play events on our website. And if you’d like a flier for the refrigerator, this Calendar of Let’s Play! events is the link for you. All Let’s Play! events are free and open to the public. 

Why Play?

Play is an essential part of a child’s wellbeing and healthy human development. Through play, children build meaningful relationships, develop essential skills, and reduce stress—all of which support a child’s development and help children and their families strengthen their relationships. 

Let’s Play! experiences are like a workout, strengthening your play muscle as you play with your child, following their lead in play, and learning with and about them through the experience. 

It is our vision that as a community, we can "put the child back in childhood” and build a strong developmental foundation for our children’s lifelong learning and wellbeing.
