Dear Friends,

The word alliance comes from the idea of being tied together. It speaks to bonds formed through shared purpose, through mutual commitment, and through trust. At The Alliance for Early Childhood, that bond connects parents, educators, schools, and community organizations. Though we each play different roles, what ties us together is our commitment to children and our shared belief in the kinds of experiences that allow them to thrive.

We believe every child deserves early learning rooted in belonging, exploration, and play. These are the moments when children take risks, make mistakes, try again, and discover the joy of productive struggle. These are also the moments when success is celebrated, not only for the achievement itself, but for the growth, resilience, and curiosity it reflects.

Our work is grounded in the core values of The Alliance:

  • Active Exploration. Children thrive when they are given space to play, experiment, and inquire.

  • Strong Relationships. They flourish in the safety of consistent, responsive connections with parents, caregivers, and teachers.

  • Individual Voices. Every child deserves to be seen and valued for their unique strengths, needs, and identities.

  • Educator Excellence. Beyond parents, educators are among the most influential people in children’s lives. Their well-being, growth, and dedication must be supported and celebrated.

These values guide us, but they are not ours alone: they live in every family, classroom, and community partner who walks alongside us. Together, we are an alliance, bound by a deep and shared commitment: to nurture childhood in all its complexity, possibility, and joy.

With gratitude for all you do,
