SESSION 6: Adapting to Our New Normal: What Have We Learned and Where Do We Go From Here?, Sue Stolzer
August 20, 2020 at 9:00am-10:30am CDT
PART I
As remote teaching in Early Childhood is a largely unstudied field, the attendees of the conference are action researchers themselves. Sue will be presenting the data from a survey of public and community preschool and kindergarten teachers on their experiences with remote teaching to date. All registered attendees of The Summit will be given the opportunity to participate in this survey. The data will encompass successes, challenges, lessons learned, and plans to adapt for the fall. Challenges such as familial engagement and diverse learners will be addressed specifically. Best practices, templates of lesson plans, and ideas for classroom tools will also be shared.
PART II
Based on a needs assessment given to registered attendees of this session, attendees will break into smaller groups to collaborate, process themes from the Summit, problem-solve, and define next action steps to head into the new school year.
