SESSION 2: Supporting Early Childhood in the Shadow of Covid-19, Lesley Koplow
August 6, 2020 at 9:00am-10:30am CDT
This session will look at social emotional and developmental issues that are likely to come into early childhood programs when children, parents and teachers return to school in person. These issues include heightened separation anxiety, regression, fear and relief for children and parents, who may react to in-person contact as both a source of vulnerability and a promise of connection and comfort. Practices and policies that support the emotional well-being of children, parents and teachers in the context of Covid-19 will be explored.
