New Parent Playgroup

  • Wilmette Public Library 1242 Wilmette Avenue Wilmette, Illinois, 60091 United States (map)

This fall, the library invites parents and caregivers of babies born since Spring 2026 to a new program series designed to support families in their first year. Each session features a cozy baby storytime, play time with age-appropriate toys, and opportunities to meet other new parents. Early childhood experts will be present to answer your questions about topics such as infant sleep, early nutrition, and developmental milestones. Learn, play, and grow together in a supportive library community.

Meeting dates will be Saturdays, September 26, October 24, and November 21. If you are registered for the series but can't make it to a meeting, that's not a problem! We know how unpredictable life can be with a new baby.

Our experts:

9/26: Natalie Doebler, MAT, CSWC, Certified Pediatric & Adult Sleep Consultant, will address questions and concerns about infant sleep.

10/24: Kassie Leachman, a certified full spectrum doula and childbirth educator, will present tips and answer questions about infant feeding and care.

11/21: Elizabeth Hackl, M.S., an ASHA-certified speech-language pathologist, will talk about language development and answer questions about issues with feeding.

As our community of new parents grows, we’ll continue to launch new groups for families with babies born in later seasons—so everyone can find their circle of support. If your baby is a little older and you are seeking connection and advice, you are welcome to join us.
