Let’s Play! is The Alliance for Early Childhood’s Ongoing Community Program, inviting families to engage and interact with their children in child-directed, creative, free play. We are grateful to share our vision in partnership with Winnetka Public School Nursery. Check out their Let’s Play! Ongoing Community Program Event that they are hosting below.
This event invites families to use their imaginations to create, explore, and problem-solve together while caring for our environment through the use of repurposed materials. Because cardboard in its myriad forms is the main material used, families can easily and inexpensively replicate these experiences at home. The event will take place on our Outdoor Learning Environment (weather permitting) as well as in our classrooms and Studio. Outdoor experiences will include large-scale construction and exploration using materials including: refrigerator boxes, large cardboard tubes, and corrugated cardboard. Houses, castles, tunnels, and ramps are just a few of the creative possibilities. Indoor experiences will include small-scale construction and exploration using materials including: small cardboard tubes, shirt cardboard, small boxes, and corrugated cardboard. The possibilities are limitless!
